The Off-Sets (Mine La Motte)

This quarry is divided into two sections. The open quarry side and the cave side. The cave side has it’s own entry area, and is open only to certified cave divers. The open quarry side is open to all divers, but there are some cavern areas around the sides that one could swim into.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day the open quarry side is taken over by kids, so the best time for divers is before summer or after.

The vis can sometimes reach 30′. or call (573) 756-8300.

I’m thinking about diving here this week just to check it out. Does anybody have any current info or a phone number to get info??? Thanks

Here is some info on the off-sets. I couldn’t get the web site to connect, but I tried calling the number, and got a recorded message that said that they were open 7 days a week. So I’m assuming that they are open for business.
Give us a report if you make it out there.

I’ll try to call tomorow during normal buisness hours. I’m wanting to try it on Wed or Thurs this week if anybody’s interested in it.

    I’ll give a report if I go.

Hey do you guys know what the age limit is to get into the place? I know you have to sign a wavier but I couldnt find anything that said how young you could be. Thanks

As far as diving, you just have to have valid “C” card. If you just want to swim, I don’t think there is an age limit.

  6. Two scooter dives. Both using stages with backgas as reserve. It’s been a bit since I’ve been in water that cold. I haven’t downloaded yet, but water probably ranged from 53 to 43. No flow (ha, ha). Variable viz. 10 ft up to maybe 40 ft.
